Southern Pulse, an online newsletter which up until now had been a fairly reliable news source, mistakenly identified Panama as the location of an arrest of a 23 year old man carrying a cooler full of explosives and suggested there had been five bus bombings here since January.
I had heard nothing of explosions on public buses, and double-checked with both Newsroom Panama and The Panama News.
No such attacks have occurred in Panama, and the name of the Minister of the Interior was also incorrect.
It appears the online newsletter has confused Panama with Guatemala. Hopefully a correction will be made. Roberto
Editors Note: I have spoken to the founding editor and yes, a mistake was made. It has been corrected on the newsletter site.
Roberto Chocoaté, your very own Retirement Detective who caught and investigated the error has been invited to become a Southern Pulse correspondant for Panama.
This week, David Young, Founding Editor of Newsroom Panama asked Roberto Chocolaté to begin writing a travel column for the online newsletter. The new column will begin once Roberto returns from a month-long trip back to Ontario.
