Sinaproc warns: Avoid beaches until after May 7th

A WARNING of waves of up to 3 meters and a strong undertow along Panama’s Pacific Coast has been issued by the Civil Protection System (SINAPROC).

The agency says the alert will be maintained from April 29 through May 7 and the population is warned to pay special attention to rising tides and the presence of high and frequent waves at any time and to obey warning notices.

Sinaproc warns people to stay away from beach areas because of possible sudden tide surges and to comply with the recommendations of the security departments.

The National Emergency Operations Center (COE), will monitor vulnerable areas like Puerto Caimito (West Panama), Playa Leona (West Panama), El Salado de Aguadulce (Coclé), Puerto Armuelles (Chiriquí), Boca La Caja (Panama City), Gonzalo Vásquez Island (Panama).
